Abstract

Betta fish are very sensitive to environmental changes, including changes in water pH levels. Inappropriate pH levels can affect the health and biochemical balance in the Betta fish's body, causing stress, disease, or even death. A decrease in pH is caused by improper maintenance and poor water quality. However, checking the pH of Betta fish aquarium water in the majority of communities is still done manually by changing the aquarium water periodically and routinely measuring the pH level of the water using a pH meter which is done manually. Therefore, an Internet of Things (IoT) based system is needed to monitor water pH quality automatically and can be accessed remotely. This research aims to create a tool used to determine the differences in changes in well water and river water in a betta fish aquarium. This tool is designed to help Betta fish breeders control water quality. The research results show that this system is successful in monitoring water pH in real-time accurately. When implementing a system to measure the pH of well water and river water for 60 days, this system succeeded in monitoring that the pH of well water tended to be higher than river water, although in the fifth week it was found that the pH of well water was lower, but it was not statistically significant so monitoring needs to be done periodically. Therefore, this monitoring system provides consistent data that is useful in determining the pH quality of aquarium water on a regular basis.
